Pacific Coast Travelin'

Down the Pacific Coast and then Back to Pleasanton for Thanksgiving! About two weeks ago, I set out on an adventure to go down Highway 1 and see the spectacular California coast. I loved the stunning views and the warm beaches. I was lucky to experience some great weather. After Bob and Lynn's house, I went (and stayed in state beach campgrounds or did some driveway surfing) in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, Cambria, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara and Oxnard. I met my first van lifer, Deb and her dog Tucker. She has a sweet little set up in her van and we got to talk a little when I stopped in Monterey for the night. That same day, I saw a dad fishing at the water's edge and trying hard not to hook one of his kids running around him. I took myself to lunch that day and had a fabulous lobster roll. Starting New Adventures

 Hello Folks, Calamity Jane and I have started our journey. To ease into it, I asked friends Bob and Lynn if I could stay in their driveway for two nights in Sunnyvale, my old neighborhood when I was a teenager. Bob helped me with a few van upgrades, they took me to an amazing Irish Pub for lunch, supported me, cooked home-made meals that were delicious and threw in access to their bathroom for a nice warm shower.  I couldn't have chosen a better first stop. Bob, Lynn and their son Ian are wonderful, loving people that have been there for me always and I am extremely grateful to them.  Today, I went to Wilder Ranch State Park. Bob and Lynn recommended it. The ocean is so healing. After a short hike to the beach, I headed to my next stop. It is an overnight stay in a driveway in Santa Cruz. It's like Air BNB, but driveway surfing. The pic of me by the van is in Santa Cruz. I'll be posting again when I have new pics and new things to report.   Love, Laurie and Cal...
